Tom Wagner, a Senior Vice President on our Retail team, shares his first-hand account of the benefits of taking full parental leave after the birth of his second child—a “saving grace.” When my daughter was born in September 2023, I took six weeks of paternity leave at the time of her birth and then took an additional eight-week block over the following summer. My wife and I needed that time—it wasn’t just a desire to be more present, it was a necessity. Our daughter was a very poor sleeper, and as much as I tried to share equal burden with my wife, it wasn’t feasible while working full-time. Shared parental leave was our saving grace, allowing me to provide much-needed hands-on support for my wife, who had been bearing the brunt of the challenges. The benefits of this time off went far beyond what I’d anticipated. It gave my wife, who hadn’t had more than two hours away from our daughter in nine months, a much-needed break. I was able to take the primary role in our daughter’s wakeful nights and naps, and we were eventually able to sleep-train her, which would have been incredibly challenging for my wife to do alone. But it wasn’t just about sharing the load, it also helped us recalibrate our lives. I had the privilege of spending quality time with both our children and enjoying moments I may have otherwise missed. Coordinating with AlixPartners was straightforward. I’d signaled my intent to take parental leave early on, and when I finally chose dates that worked for our family, my PMD fully supported me, and when I returned to work, the firm provided an executive coach to ease the transition. I couldn’t have asked for more flexibility. #WorkingParents #ParentalLeave #lifeatalixpartners

The trade policy landscape in 2025 is shifting by the day—and many CEOs saw it coming. In this year’s Disruption Index, 75% of CEOs stated they were already preparing to adjust their strategy in response to anticipated tariffs and policy shifts. Now, that foresight is proving essential. Reshoring supply chains, rethinking pricing strategies, diversifying suppliers—navigating these disruptions requires more than short-term fixes. The companies that succeed won’t just react; they’ll build resilience in their operations, ensuring they’re prepared for whatever comes next. The smartest leaders aren’t waiting. They’re adapting. With 48 hours of development time, what could AI do that would materially help everyday people? In February, AlixPartners’ Andrei Rukavina and Santiago Boari set out on a coding marathon, building an AI agent that could issue emergency advisories direct to cellphones for a wildfire situation, modeled on Los Angeles' Eaton fire. The agent would speak empathetically, follow crisis-communications guidelines, and incorporate publicly available data on home-builds and road closures as it progressed through a simulation of the fire’s spread. The demo put Andrei and Santiago on the podium at DevCon2, Palantir’s invite-only hackathon. The pair, who worked with two other data scientists and were supported by Palantir engineers, wanted to create a project that didn’t hinge on value creation, but demonstrated the power of AI to improve people’s lives. The platform was devoted to “helping those that really need it, when it really matters,” says Andrei. #TeamAlixPartners #Palantir #AI #WhenItReallyMatters #DevCon2

The commitment to achieving net zero by 2050 requires a fundamental shift in long-term strategies for energy companies globally. Our inaugural Energy Transition Report surveyed nearly 400 executives across the global energy value chain to understand their approach to the energy transition and their plans for meeting net-zero goals. Despite history telling us otherwise, executives revealed an assumption that consumers and businesses alike will be willing to pay a premium for low-carbon products and services. How should companies forecast their expected margins given these contradictory sentiments? Find pragmatic advice—along with more interesting findings—in our report: https://lnkd.in/dvhHKWWc #EnergyTransition #NetZero

Born and raised in China, Fei Rong was influenced by a culture of working women, with a role model in her mother who enforced strong values of hard work and perseverance. As a Director with the AlixPartners’ Performance and Technology practice, Fei now finds inspiration from mentors and peers who have shaped her vision of supporting others, particularly women. Also a member of the firm’s Women’s Empowerment Matters employee resource group, Fei says that connecting with influential women leaders motivates her to be bold and find solutions for the barriers women face across the industry. In 2022, that motivation led Fei to co-launch the SPT Women’s Council, which focuses on inclusive hiring and development of women consultants, backed by an external network of women leaders. “What started with just five members has grown rather quickly, and we’ve been able to offer impactful events that create platforms for networking and leadership discussions.” These include an ‘AI in Procurement – CPO Playbook’ workshop series earlier this year and a recent ‘Women in Marketing Procurement’ event in connection with International Women’s Day. “I’m most proud of fostering collaboration among women consultants from varied backgrounds, which has led to increased empowerment and creativity about what else is possible. I know there is a future where SPT can expand to reach more women executives in procurement and supply chain while also championing the advancement of women consultants, especially young working mothers like me." #WomensHistoryMonth #TeamAlixPartners

How has leadership effectiveness played a role in creating value for your business? Through the course of time, our experts have become increasingly drawn to the dynamics of the relationship between PE firm leaders and portco executive teams. CEO and consumer confidence have collapsed in recent weeks due to tariff and economic uncertainty, but CEOs mustn’t become paralyzed by the uncertainty. What can CEOs do in the near term to mitigate the effects of tariffs and prepare for potential long-term changes? AlixPartners Executive Chairman, Simon Freakley, discussed that and more when he sat down with Scarlet Fu and Alix Steel last week on Bloomberg’s The Close. Watch the full conversation below.

How confident are you in your company’s plan to reach net zero by 2050? Our inaugural Energy Transition Report surveyed nearly 400 executives across the global energy value chain to understand their approach to achieving net zero goals by 2050. The survey resulted in some compelling findings, the most striking of which was the gap between confidence in meeting net zero goals and having the plans to do so. Some industries have established milestones and metrics, while others lack concrete timelines, which makes tracking progress and ensuring accountability more challenging. Reaching net zero isn’t just about ambition—it requires a clear roadmap. Explore our findings here: https://lnkd.in/dvhHKWWc #EnergyTransition #NetZero

As a global citizen who has lived across Asia, Europe, and the U.S., Reshmi Khurana Laroia knows well the powerful roles women hold across the map. Top of mind for her this #WomensHistoryMonth? Sparking inspiration by sharing stories about the diverse successes and challenges women experience around the world. “I have been in Asia for the last 16 years. In both Mumbai and Singapore, I have lived in a nuclear family where both my husband and I work. Throughout, we’ve relied on migrant domestic workers, all women. Their support has had a major role in the success of my career, helping me raise a family so I could execute complex projects or take long work trips. These women are leaders in their own right. We need role models at all stages. I was first inspired to be a leader by my parents, who I have seen step up repeatedly for their communities, family, and careers. Now, I also find inspiration from many of my older women friends and colleagues, some who have retired and some who are active professionally. Their stories are fuel for others – like how to chart the next chapter, whether taking on board roles, leadership positions at companies, starting new businesses, becoming angel investors, or investing in our mental and physical wellbeing. At AlixPartners, I try to apply the same lens. I’m part of our growing Singapore office where cultures across Asia and beyond meld – embracing those perspectives makes me excited to see how we shape this culture in the coming years.” #WomensHistoryMonth #TeamAlixPartners #WomenLeaders
