  • A note to our community from Sue Mooney, MD, MS, FACOG: After much reflection, I’ve made the difficult yet important decision to retire from my position as CEO and President at APD. I’ve had an incredible 25 years serving our patients and community, but by far, the greatest honor has been serving in my leadership role. Since joining APD in 2000 as a full-time Ob/Gyn, I have seen many changes, including our integration into the Dartmouth Health system, the opening of our beautiful Same Day Surgery unit, and the launch of our electronic medical records which greatly improved our ability to care for patients seamlessly across the Dartmouth Health system. I’m incredibly impressed by what we have built here over the years, more importantly, I’m proud of our unique culture of caring and fierce commitment to our mission and values. I will miss all my colleagues but I am confident this organization will continue to grow and thrive. APD is not about any one person or thing, it is about all of the people who work here, in partnership with each other and with our patients, to serve our community with kindness and skill. Working with the leadership at Dartmouth Health, our Board of Trustees is launching a nationwide search for my replacement. I intend to stay in my role until my successor is identified, and I will work hard to ensure a smooth transition. Until this transition happens, I will continue to support our incredible staff so that they can take care of our patients and one another. With deep gratitude, Sue

  • We were thrilled to welcome Alison Camarda, Director of Organizational Development at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC), along with visiting nurses Cinthia Valdes and Constanza Pereira from Chile, to APD this week! Their visit is part of a special program hosted by SVMC to support Cinthia and Constanza as they prepare their hospital for Magnet designation. While at APD, they toured the hospital and participated in the Coordinating Council and Clinical Practice Council, where they exchanged ideas and learned more about shared governance, transformational leadership, and mentorship in practice. Thank you for spending the day with us. We're honored to be part of your Magnet journey!
