About us
In its simplest form our mission as stated is: To protect the interests of architects and to stimulate public awareness and appreciation of the profession. We provide opportunities for our members to meet and network with our local colleagues and allied members within our area. We offer regular meetings that assist members in attaining CEU’s, or Learning Units, necessary for licensing, we provide scholarships to deserving students that reside in our territory and we promote public awareness by engaging the public at large. Our regular meetings are supplemented by special events, tours and lectures, and networking events.

As Chair of the AIA Architects League of Northern New Jersey Community Outreach Committee and member of the FLOW Green Film Committee, I am happy to invite you (yes, you) to a free film screening of "Women of Carbon" by Basia + Leonard Myszynski. "Women of Carbon" uncovers the untapped power of the built environment on our changing climate—and the even more overlooked role of women in driving carbon solutions. These trailblazing women are not just innovating; they’re balancing personal and professional journeys with an unshakable commitment to climate action. Fiercely protective of the planet, they harness the raw power of feminine energy, deeply connected to our Mother Earth. Our documentary takes you inside their inspiring stories, insights and urgent call for collective, compassionate action to restore our planet’s dignity before it’s too late. Following the film, members of the AIA New Jersey - The New Jersey Society of Architects Women In Architecture Committee will lead a Q+A with Yasemin Kologlu, a recognized leader in net-zero carbon design and a participant in the film. The screening will take place at the Franklin Lakes Public Library at 470 De Korte Drive in Franklin Lakes at 7pm on this Thursday (April 10th). It is free to attend and you do not need to be an architect or a member of the AIA to attend. The program has been approved for 2 HSW LUs for anyone who signs in with an AIA number, or anyone who signs in with an email address and name for non AIA members who need the credits and want a certificate. Bring your friends and colleagues for this one night only special event. Learn more on the AIA New Jersey site about this free New Jersey Architecture Week at https://lnkd.in/ddfJ8bbB #WomenOfCarbon
