We reflect on justice, environmental equity, and the pioneers like Catherine Bauer Wurster who paved the way. In 1934, Wurster authored Modern Housing, a seminal work that influenced housing policy and emphasized the need for quality, affordable homes for all citizens. As the Executive Director of the New Labor Housing Conference of the American Federation of Labor, Bauer Wurster played a crucial role in shaping housing reforms that continue to impact our industry today. NAHMA - The National Affordable Housing Management Association's mission is to promote development, management and preservation of quality affordable multifamily housing by advocating legislative and regulatory policy, as well as providing affordable housing professionals with the knowledge to advance excellence in the communities they serve.
