Payment Transformation & Contracting Approaches to Advance Health Equity April 23, 1-2pm CST || 2-3pm EST AHE’s LC teams discuss how to incorporate equity in value based payment program design and how to leverage contractual requirements to prioritize, support, and advance health equity at the provider, plan, and state level.

Initiating National Strategies for Partnership, Inclusion, and Real Engagement (INSPIRE) is a collaborative and coordinated team of organizations and people with lived experience (PWLE) committed to advancing the practice of authentic community engagement (CE) in the U.S. healthcare system. Join INSPIRE on March 25th, at 1pm EST || 12pm CST || 11am PST for a webinar where they will share key insights from their Phase 1 report on authentic community engagement (CE) in U.S. healthcare. The session will provide actionable strategies for professionals leading community engagement and people with lived experience (PWLE). #Medicaid payers are increasingly using payment strategies to address health disparities. Value-based payment (VBP) is one approach payers use to incentivize providers to focus on improving quality of care rather than volume of services. VBP can be designed to help narrow gaps in outcomes, as well. These payment models require careful design. AmeriHealth Caritas Delaware and Community Health Plan of Washington, have been refining their VBP programs since 2019 as members of our Learning Collaborative. In their blog post below, Anne Smithey, Victoria Gersch, MPH, and Kevin Leonard explore those VBP approaches and share key lessons learned, including challenges and facilitators for developing and implementing VBP programs to reduce health disparities. #healthequity https://lnkd.in/g-t4z2RC
