For a trade association, 100 years of longevity is an accomplishment in itself. It reflects several generations of dedicated volunteer leaders, a long succession of expert staff and effective advocacy for members in a constantly evolving environment. Yet the centennial for Associated General Contractors of Texas represents even more. Beyond the herculean task of connecting communities throughout a state of its sheer size (more than 268,000 square miles) and building a colossal highway system (more than 80,000 centerline miles and 55,000 bridges), we should also recognize the many ways in which the chapter and its members have left their mark across the country. As a national partner for more than 85 years, ARTBA can attest to how AGC of Texas’ influence has extended from Austin to the Nation’s Capital and beyond. Happy 100th Birthday! 🎁🎉
