About us

Aerospace Quality R&D is an Aerospace engineering firm and full capability repair station in Addison, TX. Their team of entrepreneurial, enthusiastic and client-focused team members are the face of AQRD, helping customers both individually and broadly keep their airplanes in the air. In an industry in which the original manufacturer has a monopoly on aircraft repairs, AQRD has brought whole new options to aircraft owners and operators. AQRD was founded on the premise that the Aerospace industry needed other options for FAA approved engineering and component repairs. The vision of engineering through the eyes of the mechanic and turn-key repairs creating our own technical data has propelled the company as one of the entrepreneurial disrupters in the industry, challenging the way things are done. AQRD also houses multiple fighter jet programs, as well as two Beech Starship aircraft, in which only four exist worldwide.

  • At AQRD, we have been privileged to contribute to the advancement of aerospace technology by providing expertise in systems engineering, composite engineering, and thermal structural design for the X-37 Space vehicle. Since the early 2000s, AQRD has been at the forefront of developing NDT standards and innovative high-temperature composite solutions for the flight controls of the X-37. Our pioneering work includes the full spectrum of activities, from qualification and certification to structural testing and flight validation for critical components like the Ruddervators and Flaperons. With a deep understanding of composites, we excel in designing, certifying, and testing unique applications for a wide range of aircraft and space vehicles.   • AQRD has the unique opportunity to support the Department of Homeland Security in the United States Coast Guard. From repairing composite components to engineering and fabricating replacement structures - AQRD provides solutions for the USCG that are not available through conventional means. The Alenia C-27J Spartan is a military transport aircraft developed and manufactured by Leonardo's Aircraft Division (formerly Alenia Aermacchi until 2016).It is an advanced derivative of the former Alenia Aeronautica's earlier G.222, equipped with the engines and various other systems also used on the larger Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules. AQRD is proud to support this unique platform in defense of of the United States.   • The US Coast Guard flies some pretty special aircraft. One of many is the HC-144 Sentry.   • To commemorate Veterans Day/Week we had a chance to listen 2nd Lt. "Lucky" Luckadoo this week as a part of the Service Air Corps lunch at Old Parkland - Dallas. What a great hero and patriot Lucky is flying the B-17 Flying Fortress over France and Germany as part of the Bloody 100th Bomb Group stationed in Thrope Abbotts, England. If not for Lucky we would have never defeated Nazi Germany. We just got his book and look forward to reading his story. Thank you Lucky for showing us all what it is to be a Great American! In your honor we post a little video thanking you for your service to this great nation.
