  • Earlier this week, Autism Alliance’s Allison Daigle and Pam McKillop spoke at Advocates for Autism of Massachusetts’ 20th Annual Autism Advocacy Day. At the event, which honored Representative Christine Barber and Senator Cindy Friedman, Allison and Pam shared the story of our Autism Welcoming program, highlighting the importance of sensory-friendly community spaces that welcome people with autism and their families. Check out these photos of our team at the state house!

  • Last fall, our Director of Communication Access shared a powerful video about the Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing Tax, a set of unique financial and systemic barriers that disproportionately impact Deaf and hard of hearing individuals. That video sparked important conversations within our organization, and one significant disparity noted was our lack of insurance coverage for hearing aids for adults. Thanks to the advocacy of staff and the dedicated work of our benefits team, we’re so pleased to be able to offer improved hearing aid coverage for both children and adults, effective April 1.   While improved insurance coverage is just one small step toward equity, we celebrate this progress and recognize 2axend and everyone who advocated and worked behind the scenes to make this happen. Your voices matter, and together, we are building a more accessible and inclusive workplace.   #TheDDBHHTax
