Updates

  • Being last.... not a good look for New Hampshire. Does it make sense to have our town election officials manually type voter registrations and updates into an online system? If this were a business, we would say no in a heartbeat and modernize the process. Online voter registration has been proven to be more secure - reduce time- be more cost effective- and allow for busy people with all kinds of things going on in their lives, to still update registrations - and vote. You don't vote, you don't have a say in ALL the other things that impact your life; the economy, childcare, education, healthcare, etc. Tell your elected officials we want our voices to be heard, and modernize to an online voter registration process. Use our easy form to contact your rep directly: https://lnkd.in/dMNZC52m #democracy #nheconomy #voting #21stCentury #modernization

🇺🇸 🗽 🗳️ Today's THE DAY! It's time for New Hampshire to modernize! The House Election Law committee is hearing HB521, today at 3:10pm, which creates an online voter registration system. Voters would use their New Hampshire drivers license or non-driver ID card to verify their identity when registering online, also adding an extra level of security during the online registration process. Ballots and voting would still be on paper in-person, but an online registration would be possible. 42 other states already use this system! Let's not be the last. 1. Online voter registration has demonstrated in 42 states to be more accurate and secure than paper registrations 2. State IDs are still required and verified by local supervisors of the checklist before being added to the voter roll 3. The cost to process an online registration locally is on average .03 cents, while paper ballots can cost an average of $4.72 4. It aligns with our busy lives- if you move, get married and change your name, work during hours that the town clerk is open, can't make time to go in person- GUESS WHAT???.... you can still update your registration and be allowed to vote! 5. Allowing people to update their information ahead of election day means shorter lines and waits to vote on election day We are still using paper. We are still requiring election officials to type in each person's information manually into our online systems. We are still not acknowledging the busy lives of Granite Staters. We are still willingly choosing to spend more money on an archaic system. Being last.... is not good for the people of New Hampshire. Tell your elected officials you support this measure with an easy to use form: https://lnkd.in/dMNZC52m #democracy #vote #modernize #civicengagement

  • "As members of the Manchester Neighbors Welcome Coalition, we know that Manchester needs more homes at different prices and sizes for our current and future neighbors...The proposed zoning code takes some steps in the right direction, but it can and should do more to address Manchester’s housing needs. We have a choice. Will Manchester return to being a community where people of all income levels can find a home within their budgets? Or will we allow ourselves to become a playground for the wealthy where no workers can afford to live? Our zoning code is how we will decide." https://lnkd.in/ewMfZsEd #affordablehousing #walkablecities #economicdevelopment #NHhousing
