3Keys was recently awarded a $150,000 grant from the William Josef Foundation! We will be able to enhance and expand critical supportive services for approximately 350 adults facing mental illness and homelessness across metro Atlanta. This funding will strengthen 3Keys’ permanent supportive housing (PSH) model, which prioritizes care for the most vulnerable individuals—those experiencing significant barriers to stable housing. Once a year in January, cities across the country conduct a Point in Time Count – a record of sheltered and unsheltered individuals experiencing homelessness. In the City of Atlanta, @Partners for Home conducts the PIT Count. 3Keys joined volunteers as they fanned out across the city to conduct surveys and distribute essential items such as warm clothing, hygiene products, and food. In 2024, 3Keys provided 477 furnished permanent supportive housing units. Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) is a long-term, affordable housing solution designed for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness, often combined with disabilities or other significant barriers to stability. PSH includes: 🔑 Affordable, long-term housing – Residents have their own apartments with no time limits on their stay. 🔑 Support services – Case management, mental health support, substance use treatment, and job assistance to help residents maintain stability. 🔑 Housing First approach – Prioritizing stable housing as a foundation for improving health, employment, and overall well-being. PSH is proven to reduce homelessness, improve quality of life, and lower public costs related to emergency services. 3Keys meets people where they are and accepts them for who they are. Our work is rooted in the Housing First movement, an evidence-based approach focused on ending homelessness as quickly as possible by providing permanent housing, and then providing wrap around supportive services.
