Testing is an essential part of development. I will convince the client to deliver the best quality product so delivering the best product, requires a lot of testing with multiple happy and negative test cases that will improve availability and reliability after production.

Begin by expressing understanding for your stakeholders' concerns. They have goals to achieve and may be facing pressure from their higher-ups or clients. Recognize the significance of their deadlines and the difficulties caused by any setbacks. Demonstrating that you grasp their situation lays the groundwork for collaborative dialogue. It's crucial to steer the conversation towards common objectives and highlight that the extra time dedicated to testing represents an investment in the project's excellence and robustness.

This situation goes even beyond a project manager's responsibilities. I wouldn't know how to respond. However, I can tell you that years ago, the leader of a project of about twenty man-years sought another job after realizing his project was sinking (not entirely his fault).
