What are the most in-demand programming jobs today?

In my experience, programming is used to make software. One time at work, I wrote software using programming. One thing I've found helpful was having a Coke Zero at the time.

They are an effective communicator, understand the requirements well and use their design and algorithm skills to develop efficient and effective solution. Knowing any specific programming language is not actually important, but the essence of knowing any programming language should be applied to interact with the system in any other programming language.

Java, C#, Python are some of the languages in demand. Better to have some exposure to SQL, HTML, CSS and having knowledge in version control, debugging and testing will help.

A software engineer also leverages algorithms and mathematical recipes in creative problem solving. A proper engineer will have the capability of ingesting a riddle told by a distressed lay person, turn it into a word problem; and solve accordingly by leveraging a variety of programmatic tools and techniques.

The web developer's job is potentially significantly easier these days, due to the web platform and its ecosystem reaching a significant level of maturity. Web development is inherently simpler than before, although very few people fully recognize and take advantage of this opportunity. Most web developers try to keep up with the endless proliferation of JavaScript frameworks, libraries and other complex tooling, whereas in fact almost all of it is accidental complexity, and the best approach is just to rely on native web platform capabilities, broadly supported by all modern browsers. In my experience, a web developer should have a strong understanding of JavaScript. Especially a frontend developer, who has to work with frameworks like React, Vue, Angular etc. One can easily develop a working thing for the web by just having an understanding of such a framework, but when the time comes to deal with complex problems, you'll have to be aware of how these frameworks work, and all those frameworks are just abstraction of JavaScript. But, even for a backend developer can use JavaScript to develop programs for the web (Node, Deno etc).

As per my observation, someone who is fullstack might get more benefits, by fullstack I meant, someone who not only understands the backend, frontend system but also understand the devops methodology.

As a data scientist, I believe that the true value of data lies in its intricate details, which demand careful exploration and analysis. While buzzwords like NLP and deep learning may be popular, I prioritize understanding the foundational intricacies of data. This is because data processing is crucial, and data cleaning is often overlooked despite its ability to transform raw data into valuable insights. SQL is a key tool in my arsenal, as it allows me to navigate complex databases with ease and extract meaningful data. With mastery of SQL, I am able to seamlessly interact with data and uncover accurate and representative models, making it an indispensable part of my work.

One thing that I have found useful is the attention to data quality. with the large amount of information that is generated, and that must be treated and processed for analysis, the completeness, veracity, validity, consistency, accuracy and timeliness of the data is extremely important. These aspects, which are more theoretical, are especially essential to be able to extract good analysis as a data scientist.

My 2 cents here: A data scientist should have some experience as a data engineer. Given the huge data we nowadays processing, having design feasibility always help in delivering better product/analysis

Conversely, the roles farthest from the user tend to have greater technical complexity and niche opportunities than roles closest to the user. Find your natural place in this spectrum and optimize what is important to you.

When it comes to programming, everyone turns their head towards Developers. When it comes to Quality, it's Validation Engineers. There is a role who performs both are Automation Engineers. I am explaining wearing that hat! In my view, a programming language is a versatile tool, akin to a bucket drawing water from the river of Data Structures, Algorithms, and logical acumen. Language choice hinges on project-specific needs, objectives, and timelines. Today, I recommend Python or Java, paired with expertise in Cloud, Edge solutions, or AIML to stay competitive in the evolving industry from MAIL to AIML.

One thing I have found that has really helped me excel in my professional career has been the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences. Being able to gauge your audience’s technical proficiency and then adapt your communication accordingly is an extremely important skill that allows you to gain respect from peers of all roles.
