In my experience, while embracing change with AI and ML technologies with data architecture, we should always supervise the model to a very detailed level. Validation for each layer from start to end is necessary, in order to train AI to provide the correct output. With regular validation we can discover the necessary impacts, shortcomings, required optimization, upgradation and increase accuracy. Although this might seem like manual task but it is necessary to avoid critical mistakes till we are confident about deploying, automating the integrated model in production environment. Each issue must be documented and worked upon with a good strategy. Also up-gradation of model should be tested for each permutation and combination. Accuracy!

Step 3 - Ensure the proposed changes maintain your data integrity, velocity and NEVER forget security. (remember your organization is expecting you to wear 2 hats , 1 to empower the new tech and 1 to ensure dividends don't get compromised by B2B or B2C performance)

What I have found interesting in my work with different clients, is that everyone wants the new, shiny tech to be implemented first, because they have heard that that will "most certainly" lead to efficiencies. From my personal experience, I can say this is not necessarily the case. In my opinion, the data architecture can be disrupted by ML/AI in following points: > Ingestion: have you the right mechanism to ingest data like video, image, audio in consuming context of velocity , volume or variaty? > Storage: Have you a storage can support these kind of data? > Processing: Have you a right processing tools to get data to use inside environment to meet business needs? Evaluate how your new ML/AI based business requirements affect in these points your data architecture.

It is critical for all data teams and their associated architectures to remember who their customers are. Customers (internal and external) have requirements and needs and a continuous evolution process is critical to ensure the architecture lasts the test of time. I have inherited many dated data architectures because the data team built the "field of dreams" and stopped innovating and improving. It is critical to think of the data architecture as component that needs to be properly funded from a run, grow and transform perspective. Data architectures once built needs money, resources and continuous improvement to ensure it is sustainable, resilient and can survive the longevity test.
