What I would add on top of this, is that when picking the project to work on, avoid trying to come up with an original idea, instead, reverse engineer someone else's project and implement your own version of it. Why? Because that way you're effectively tackling problems that you know have a solution. You just have to find it. Instead of spending time and energy in coming up with an idea hans't been done before and that maybe, it's just not possible.

I would start looking public repositories that is supposed to be written by masters and then study their code to understand: Why they wrote that code in that way. What that method is doing. Ask myself if I already know all that keywords which is being applied, such as ternary, null coalescing, lambda function, async/await. If there is anything new to me, then start a research on that matter, otherwise great. Nowadays with AI on our side, you can ask AI to explain the code.
