How do you keep your Agile knowledge and skills updated and relevant?

Many companies do not have OPEX to spend on team training, so in this case, I suggest some options: - We currently have several quality courses for free, search for them and share them with your team. - Another really nice option is for a leader or someone more senior to provide internal training within the company, this experience will certainly be very rich and will bring your team even closer.

Stay current with Agile by engaging in continuous learning. Follow industry blogs, attend webinars, and participate in Agile communities. Earn certifications and attend workshops to deepen your expertise. Practice new techniques in real projects and seek feedback from peers. Regularly review and adapt your methods based on emerging trends and best practices to ensure your skills remain relevant and effective.

Personal development comes in many forms for me, since 2000. I read my first XP book in 2000, before the agile term or the Manifesto was created. I began 20+ years of running experiments, reading more and creating my own hypothesis for finding better ways of working. What I found was a plethora of agile evangelists, who tried to “tell” me about their agile experience, wrapped around a framework they bought at a two-day training.😎 What I learned was trust, transparency, value delivery and continuous improvement of the process and the products being delivered. It’s not NEW or Magic, and it won’t “save your company.” It’s just a simple concept of values that have been lost, due to lack of shared values, integrity and serving others.

Some solutions to constantly update skills: 📚 1- Always seek to learn ❤ 2- Believe in your heart that you can learn from anyone at any level 😌 3- Don't be proud to learn from others 👨🏫 4- Appreciate the person who taught you something 📈 5- Know that the more your knowledge increases; Your unknowns will multiply 🌐 6- Always benefit from websites such as hbr.ir and science direct, etc., and for example, have a plan to read one article a week 🔮 7- Crystal learning will help you a lot: It means to go from one article to another, analyze it by seeing a word and get to other sciences and connect these to each other like a crystal And so on ... .

Practicing what you learn and sharing your lessons learned is very important in Agile. Have Agile Coffee sessions with your teams and lunch and learns. Do collaborative case studies. Learn from others different facilitation techniques and games. I know I wrote an article a while back on The Very Agile PM blog about Lego Games for Agile and Chris Stone on Linkedin is always writing about fun Miro templates and facilitation techniques to use with teams. The more you expand your network, the more you will learn. Sharing your experiences is also a great way to get feedback.

Apply Agile principles in real-world projects. Gain hands-on experience in implementing Agile methodologies to reinforce theoretical knowledge. Regularly practice Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups, to stay adept at Agile processes.

Practical application is key to mastering Agile methodologies. Real-world scenarios provide valuable insights and help refine your understanding. Experimenting with diverse frameworks and tools enhances adaptability, while engaging in Agile simulations fosters a deeper comprehension of concepts. Continuous hands-on experience is a powerful method for staying agile in an ever-evolving landscape.

The best way to learn is to do. Look for opportunities to implement practices into your day to day work and work with those that are more experienced with methods. Join professional groups outside of work where you can discuss your experience with other practitioners and listen to things to avoid on your journey. There may also be opportunities for you to take part in learning simulations which is a more hands on way of testing your knowledge through practical application.

By getting certified in Agile, you can demonstrate your knowledge and skills to employers and clients, and stay up-to-date with the latest Agile practices and principles. There are several Agile certifications available, such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), and SAFe Agilist. Choose the certification that aligns with your career goals and interests. After preparing for the exam, take the exam and pass it to earn the certification. This certification may help for your future endeavors and success in this field of expertise and provide standings besides the heavy joint Subject Matter Expert / Coaches and mentors of Agile methodology.

Certification is important, but it's not everything. During a recruitment process, some opportunities define a specific certification as mandatory, such as: PSPO for PO, but an experience may be voluntary or other work is richer and the knowledge behind the certification is much more important than a piece of paper.

Getting certified its important, but even more is to practise knowledge we gained. Otherwise it will be only certification number we will win.

Pursue relevant Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or SAFe Agilist. Certifications helps to validate your expertise and provide structured learning paths. Keep your certifications updated through ongoing education and recertification processes.

The Certified Scrum Product Owner is one of the easiest ways to obtain a certification. You attend the workshop for 2 days and it does not require an exam.

For keeping up with the latest trend and skills follow industry blogs, subscribe to newsletters, and read books on Agile methodologies. Stay informed about the latest trends, tools, and best practices. Enroll in online courses and webinars. Platforms like Coursera, Udemy, and LinkedIn Learning offer a variety of Agile-related courses to enhance your knowledge.

Two options I offer for keeping up with Agile skills are Coursera and LinkedIn Learning. Two programs available on Coursera are: - Software Product Manager - Scrum Master Certification The Google Project Manager program in Coursera has one module in Agile.

Nowadays when all of us have access to such as great thing as internet its so accessible to expand out knowledge. We can cultivate a mindset of continuous learning so easily. It's crucial to stay always curious about new trends, tools, and methodologies in Agile. Reading books, articles, and blog posts on Agile topics can bring also tons of inspiration for daily work. Moreover following reputable thought leaders and industry experts can be inspiring and connect you with people working at the same area.

Your professional path as an agilist does not end at certification. You have to maintain your PDU/CEU. You have to keep current with industry and market trends. You have to network and mentor. You have to continue growing your practice as well as the breadth of your technical and tooling knowledge to remain relevant. It is a competitive market.

Develop an Agile mindset in your personal and professional development. Be open to new ideas, feedback, and changes, mirroring the flexibility and adaptability promoted by Agile methodologies. Apply Agile principles of continuous improvement to your own learning journey. Regularly assess and refine your learning strategies based on experiences and feedback.

To stay current in Agile for subsea or renewable energy, continuous learning and industry engagement are crucial. Attend workshops on Agile methodologies tailored for wind turbine projects. Join forums discussing Agile application in offshore substations. Participate in webinars covering onshore substation and grid connection challenges. I would add to all being said that can be valuable to encourage yourself and participate in feedback loops within your team. Feedback is a crucial component of Agile, and it helps teams adapt and improve. Always ask about how it is to work with you and respect the response.
