Research is a roller coaster, full of highs and lows! Highs like paper publications, breakthrough moments and awards. Lows like paper rejections, ideas not working and competition. But it is those low moments that give us the push needed to make it to the top. Resilience, powering through the hard moments and viewing challenges as opportunities for growth. My PhD advisor once told me that the "lows shall be low for the highs to be high". And I think that's very true! How did I make it through these hard moments during PhD? By realizing that I am not alone, I am not the only one having such moments, and that I should not compare my path and accomplishments to others.
