Over the years numeros specialised IDS tools dedicated for IoT has emerged. These tool specialty range from ICS to generic IoT. IDS, as the name imply, are very good at detection, and identify threats. But they do not block or prevent threats.

The minute the IDS can detect anomalies indicating a possible security breach, FLOD, VMDR or SOC can swiftly action to mitigate the vulnerability, before it becomes a threat, or worse a risk, It is better to be IOA than IOC, in one's opinion---a tip of the cap to the red / blue / purple teams, they are soooooo needed.
