The person who developed the feature is the best person to fix the bug, if the original developer is absent, check the documentation available for the feature where bug is observed, the person who is well versed with the particular documentation can fix the bug with minimal efforts, usually, senior engineers who review the documentations are the ones with more grip on the holistic overview of the functionality, they can be the go to people for fixing the bug. Another point is to understand which problems are recurrent and which factors within the team are contributing to the emergence of more of these issues. It's essential to ensure that there is a general awareness of ways to avoid them and an understanding of their existence.

deploy in UAT env and test it. depends on the deployment strategy [ blue/green and feature management flags ] deploy the changes and monitor it in production. If everything looks for good, then promote the changes to all the production servers. [ including green or vice versa ].

Document religiously. Even a single line of code written without any documentation is an invalid code. Coding must be done keeping two things in mind: 1) Testing 2) Maintenance. Develop the habit of marking the input and exit points of each function, the purpose of the function, input examples and expected output, areas of concern, areas of improvement and potential issues. All these things should be documented end-to-end, facilitating a platform that'd help detect bugs early and fix them without breaking heads.

Every bug should become either a test case or a unit test. P0 bugs should become test cases in the regression suite and part of smoke test as well. RCA of bugs should be done and learnings should be published within the team.

Although several contributors advise lots of documentation, I would suggest you document "just enough". Once you add your documentation, it also adds to your technical debt when something in the code changes. Interestingly enough, documenting the "don't matter" decisions is sometimes just as important. When a new person reads the code, it answers the question when they look at existing code and wonder why you did it that way. If you have a comment that says you had to chose one approach, but it didn't matter if you had taken another, it makes maintenance or refactoring easier for your followers.
