Having founded 6 companies, most commercially successful, the single biggest issue with partners is making sure everyone understands what is expected from them and what they will get for their contribution. The entire agreement should be codified in a carefully written document. Problems arise when one or more partners feel disregarded or not appreciated for their efforts. If a major partner backs off after the business is started and lets others do all the work, the "others" feel it's unfair.
