Benchmark, whatever problem or change you want to tackle, before moving forward you should benchmark the issue. If you dive right in to trying to solve a problem before defining it you're unlikely to get buy in from colleagues or clients. If you first define a benchmark you'll not only have justified reasoning and data to back up your points when you're asked what you're working on but you'll also then have a solid base to return to later when you evaluate the effectiveness of your solution.

Frequently, I find myself drawn into escalations where discussions remain superficial. However, resolving matters at surface level does not address the underlying issue. It is crucial to identify the root cause, as often it is a minor issue that can be easily rectified and resolve the entire situation.

When confronted with complex problems remotely, adopt a growth mindset. Break down the issue, utilize online resources, and seek feedback. Incorporate tools like Loom to effectively communicate your problem. Connect with peers, experiment, and persevere through setbacks. Continuous learning and resilience are crucial for success in remote work.

Bonus Tip: Collaboration is key, even remotely! Share your research and brainstorm results with your team. Multiple minds are better than one, especially when working virtually!

There's nothing that can't be resolved with a bit of brainstorming. All it takes is presence of mind and focus to find innovative solutions and work in a different manner.
