Begin by setting clear boundaries and expectations in the coaching agreement, ensuring the relationship remains professional and goal-focused. Use active listening and open-ended questions to create a space where the client feels safe to be vulnerable and authentic. Focus on their challenges and growth areas, rather than their position or authority, to keep the coaching dynamic balanced. Maintain confidence in your expertise and avoid being overly deferential. Regularly revisit goals and progress, reinforcing a partnership that prioritizes their development over hierarchical dynamics.

When coaching someone with a lot of influence, it's important to keep things real and ensure there's balance. The goal is to help them grow while respecting the power they hold. 1- Be open and respectful: Treat them as a partner, not someone above you. 2- Create trust: Make sure they feel comfortable being themselves and sharing without holding back. 3- Encourage reflection: Help them see how their actions impact others and how they can lead more consciously. The true measure of leadership is not the position you hold, but the positive impact you create.

Can a small mouse help a mighty lion? The fable says yes... Coaching thrives on partnership and trust. As a coach, I stand by the client as an ally, supporting their journey. Power dynamics have no place in this protected space. If they arise, I remind myself that my role is to support the human being beyond any high-ranking title. By fostering an authentic, empathetic relationship, I try to create an atmosphere where clients can express, explore, and embrace their vulnerabilities, free from the constraints of their role. This empowers them to achieve their goals with greater ease and clarity. That is how I think, just like in the fable, even the mouse might help the lion by gnawing through the ropes holding them captive.

A coach needs to be a coach no matter who their client is. It all begins with the coach -Building trust with client and it becomes easier when coach themselves believe that they can support in the client’s journey. -It’s all about the Client- Be present, listen to what they are saying and what they are not. Support client through helping them explore by being there at the present and seeing that you partner with the client to explore possibilities and potential that lies within the client. -It’s not about you as a coach, it’s about your client, put all your focus on what they would like to get out of that session, not on who they are.

These individuals pick with precision, you already proved your capabilities. Focus on maintaining your own balance and fulfilling your responsibilities. That’s the real support they are looking for. Stay professional and protect your boundaries. It's easy to fall into the trap of wishful thinking or imposter syndrome.
