What are the pros and cons of using B&B or DP for optimization problems?

Dynamic programming (DP) gives you a clear-cut path to an optimal solution if the problem naturally breaks down into smaller subproblems with a neat structure. It’s often easier to reason about, but can end up using a lot of memory and may not scale well to very large problems. Branch and bound (B&B), on the other hand, can tackle a broader set of challenges by pruning away parts of the search space and using clever heuristics.
