Sketchup, aún siendo un programa magnífico y más fácil, tiene algo menos de potencia manejando geometrías complejas y requiere uso de plugins externos para suplir esa carencia nativa.

While 3D software models are the go to conceptual and visualization tool in todays digital age, physical models were my preferred tool in college. 3D computer models are great, quick, detailed, easily changed and manipulated. You can find or make just about any design detail you want online or make it yourself. Physical models however give the client and design professional an opportunity to get hands on. Experiment with real materials, textures, etc. To look at something right in front of you in 3D can give the client a whole different perspective that you may not get looking at a space on paper or a computer screen. I’m not saying one is better than the other, just that they are both valuable tools in the design process.
