What are effective strategies for resolving conflicts with a coworker who is also a friend?

In my experience, the most critical step in resolving conflicts, especially with a coworker who is also a friend, is to acknowledge the issue openly. Pretending it doesn’t exist or hoping it resolves on its own can worsen the situation. I’ve found that setting a dedicated time and private space to discuss the matter calmly is key. It’s important to approach the conversation with a clear intention to resolve the conflict while preserving the friendship. This openness has often been the first step towards a productive resolution in my professional relationships

I've found getting out of the office or the usual meeting place into a more open or neutral place -- restaurant, bar, coffee shop. The more relaxed people are, the more they'll get to the heart of the conflict.
