One way to automate some parts of software testing is to generate test cases using Generative AI. Generation can be done using few shot examples even using open source LLM's like LLama2 or Mistral. The outputs generated are pretty neat. The main advantage is the productivity gains which will be accrued by building an automated system which takes user stories and then generate sample test cases in batches. To get the test cases more refined, we could also fine tune the open source LLMs using domain specific test cases. The inputs for fine tuning will be user stories and output would be test cases. One important factor within the process would be to add human in loop to validate the test cases generated and then approve for actual execution.
