Basically we must go back to drawing board of what when wrong. Contact the suppliers and find our delay and negotiate extra prices if they do an emergency delivery. Be calm and make sure everyone is the same page and update progress ,every hour.

Additionally, vendors should be communicated with on a frequent basis leading up to the event to ensure accurate arrival, set, and strike times. However, in the event things go off timeline be prepared to buy time or move agendas around to continue a flow of the program.

To pull off a successful event, especially the big one, you for sure need a team, and delegate at the point of crisis is way too late. Every time I do big event, I put together a team of SME - subject matter experts - so that then when issues arise they are able to act on it maybe with more efficiency, then myself - the event lead.
