What UX challenges do you face?

Understanding the user is key, At Vanguard we prioritize user research and testing very seriously. It's a challenging yet rewarding process, but the end result is a clear user understanding that informs meaningful design. There are severals rounds of interviews with a live user which leads us to have fewer assumptions or conclusions in the process.

I have a different psychology or perspective regarding User Understanding. Cause every user is unique and their value proposition is different, I like to focus more on Psychology and Biases. Because users' askings are like a mountain, we can't cover them properly, so according to my experience, I believe the business goal is mandatory to understand the users. Target audiences and market need play a crucial role in understanding and targeting the users. Using this data we can follow the assumption and conclusions about our user needs.

I recall working on a project where we faced initial resistance from stakeholders who were unsure about the ROI of investing in UX. Often, stakeholders fail to define TG, ROI, and market needs, leading to misaligned developers and failed KPIs. UX success requires whole-company collaboration. Tailor communication for stakeholders (business-focused), developers (technical), and operations (managerial). Bridge gaps, integrate efforts, enhance UX, and boost satisfaction.

We often struggle with making others see the value of our work. Unfortunately, we often encounter challenges in effectively communicating this value. To overcome this, we need to get better at explaining why our designs matter. We can do this by showing stakeholders how our designs improve the user experience and help achieve business goals, using real data and insights from users.

I've been in situations where I had to prioritize between functionality and aesthetics, or accessibility and performance. These decisions are never easy, but they're a part of the job. 🤷♂️ Sometimes, it might mean sacrificing a bit of visual appeal for functionality if it makes the product more usable for our target audience. 🎯 I also look at the broader context - business goals, technical constraints, and the market landscape.

A comprehensive IA model facilitates the refinement of functionality, aesthetics, accessibility, performance, and security aspects. With an established IA, all elements including data, databases, and features are adequately covered, allowing for clear visualization of trade-off versions. This fosters alignment among stakeholders, ensuring a harmonious balance. While not a permanent solution, this approach has consistently proven successful across various projects, such as Speedotrack, Flogapp, and Shoffr.io.

Imagine UX designers working on a shopping app's product listing page. They need to balance functionality (interactive elements), aesthetics (visual appeal), and performance (loading speed). Adding too many features could clutter the page, while complex designs might slow it down.
