Typically this would be the strongest aspects of your value proposition (for consumers) and / or investment proposition (for investors), but sharing a relevant personal fact or story can work extremely well. “We’re 6 months away from profitability. Here’s how we got there.” I’ve only seen/heard this opening statement a handful of times from the 100s of pitch decks and pitches. That stands out!

Present your first 10 or 20 seconds and ask for rapid feedback: Do they wanna hear more? Do they feel engaged? Can they empathize with your story and do you bring enough energy into it for them to feel excited? "No" to any of those questions and you still got work to do. "Yes" and you're ready for the big stage.
