I was using Windows from its beginnings, and I was very happy to get rid of command prompt CLI and finally have an UI which is incomparable user friendly and where I can see instantly what the result is. CLI still remained in Windows and other UI based OSs, because of its simplicity and speed and also because it is more versatile and secure. Cloud technologies, they use CLI commands too, in all existing variants, as they consume less resources working without launching and handling an UI. User is most often free to choose if they use an UI tool or CLI to perform same task.
