However, remember to balance this by reiterating that your fast work pace does not compromise the integrity of the data.

Accuracy and speed should strike a balance. Faster keying while making typos is not efficient. Keyboard shortcuts and tricks can help increase your speed. Take the time to learn those keyboard tricks that are relevant to your work and will provide the most benefit to your productivity. Be attentive to detail in the capacity that your work requires.

At times when the data base or spreadsheets are not giving accurate information for whatever reason I have found that it is good to know shortcuts or troubleshooting steps to handle this. There have been many times that I have had to pull out my handy calculator and take my time to back track and calculate needed data to see what the issue was. At times this is much faster than waiting for IT to fix a glitch in the system.

From my personal understanding, you want to not just express what skills you have but also how you can apply them to a variety of different fields. You might attain data entry skills with a particular job in mind, but these skills can be transferrable to a variety of jobs and work environments. I began learning data entry skills specifically so I could work in either a library or an archive and while I have used my skills in those locations, I have found that they are also helpful for an office or bank environment. In fact, looking back, data entry is something that we learn at a young age, and we continue learning it sometimes without even noticing it. Therefore, what we gain from it is usually only noticeable upon careful reflection.
