What are the best practices and resources for continuous learning and development in IT governance?

It is time we move away from so called “Best Practices” jargon. Why do I say that? What worked in one situation or an organization may not apply for all the organizations or all the situations because people are different or there are many variables . I believe we should start using, “Fit for Purpose or Tailoring for Purpose”. Best practices would work if we automated everything or if it is a homogenized or no variations or let robots run the organizations, then everything will be consistent and “Best Practices” would make sense. Not sure if any one would agree with me.
