However, this can be very disconcerting for fellow team members. They may feel unable to contribute with their skills and knowledge, which will jeopardise entire success metrics. Setting objectives is not an exclusive task for a leader. Good leaders will seek the collective opinion of the experts around them to ensure that objectives are correct and relevant.

A competent and clever leader will communicate roles based on more than just the most experienced or qualified person. A rigid mindset in talent acquisition can deny opportunities for immensely competent people who are flexible in learning and may have other soft skills that will achieve the project's goals. Good leadership will source the appropriate talent for each task based on reviewing the continuously changing abilities of the group members in an organisation.

Carefully think through all of the people within your organization who should be involved. Ask for input. It is easier to start with a larger group and then focus your efforts. If it is a major initiative, you also want to make sure leadership understands what you are working on and you have their buy-in (and then report back with the results).

And thirdly it should be within the realistic skill sets of those who have to execute the strategy. If these factors are not in place being able to commit to the strategy may be difficult. It's also potent to recognise that strategy is not fixed in stone. The group should be able to communicate the change in reality so that their be a revision of strategy in order for a project to be successfully completed.

Quality of results can be maximised using this communication style.

Picking up from my earlier contribution here, I'd like to show what CAN go wrong. if you jump into a project kickoff meeting without clearly defining roles or objectives, chaos will ensue—people will be unsure who is doing what, and you'll waste time backtracking and correcting mistakes. To avoid this, kick off your meetings by outlining clear goals, assigning specific tasks, and agreeing on deadlines. Think of it as your roadmap; it guides everyone and keeps you on track. It's mandatory so that you don't get lost along the way!
