We are proud to provide the facilities and infrastructures services necessary for the University of Ottawa to achieve its academic and research objectives. The map and lists below provide an overview of some of the more visible current projects being undertaken by Facilities as we strive to provide a vibrant environment for the exchange of ideas and knowledge.

Arts Court

The University of Ottawa has entered into a 35 year lease agreement with the City of Ottawa for facilities at Arts Court, which will include a new 120-seat Black Box Theatre and four associated classrooms at 60-70 Waller Street.

Learning Crossroads

Learning Centre rendering

The Learning Crossroads will offer modern study rooms. It will include at least 1360 seats, with many more available in the several collaborative spaces and study halls found near the corridors on each floor; these spaces will promote collaboration and exchanges between different disciplines.

Roger Guindon Project Bundle

Roger Guindon entrance

The Roger Guindon Bundle of Projects is comprised of seven projects that will be implemented by 2018, improving and increasing uOttawa's research capacity by offering innovative new research and learning facilities.

STEM

The future STEM complex will provide exciting new interdisciplinary teaching, research, and entrepreneurship opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics at uOttawa.

Tabaret: South Portico

Tabaret's south portico

Facilities will repair, replace, or restore sections of Tabaret’s south portico; this includes the stairs, landing, baluster, and various other heritage elements. The existing universal access ramp will be replaced as well.

Active Service Interruptions

  • Tabaret Accessible Entrance

    The accessible entrance below Tabaret's south entrance is closed behind fencing

    The South-facing accessible Tabaret entrance is closed until further notice due to severe water damage. Please use the accessible entrance on Waller Street.

  • Tunnel Closure: Marion to Colonel By

    Signs and boards showing the tunnel entrance is blocked

    The tunnel that links Marion and Colonel By will be closed as of October 23rd, 2016, and will remain closed until the end of construction.

  • Pedestrian Access: Vanier to Campus Station

    The sidewalk from the Vanier Building to the Campus Station will be closed as of August 24th 2016 as part of the LRT construction. During construction, the contractor will maintain safe pedestrian access from all university buildings.

  • Accessible ramp, Simard building

    The outside accessible ramp on the West side of Simard, facing the Transitway will be closed until May 2018 for the duration of the Light Rail construction. Please use the entrance on Laurier between Arts Building and 100 Laurier.

  • Campus Station Closure

    Campus Station and the pedestrian tunnel will be closed as of the 24th of April 2016 for the duration of LRT construction.
