Faculty of Engineering Secondary School

Each half-course is two weeks long and can be taken in any order (Part 2 can be taken before Part 1). Students who successfully complete both half-courses will gain a full credit toward their secondary school diploma (each half-course is worth 0.5 credits).  

This exploratory course introduces students to concepts and skills related to technological design, which involves the development of solutions to various design challenges and the fabrication of models or prototypes of those solutions. Students will develop an awareness of related environmental and societal issues, and will begin to explore secondary and postsecondary pathways leading to careers in the field.

• Exploring Technological Design - Part 1 (TDJ1O1) will have a strong focus on 3D modelling, 3D drawing, and 3D printing.
• Exploring Technological Design - Part 2 (TDJ1O2) will focus more on engineering drawings and laser cutting.

Please note that this course will be offered solely in English at this time, but that French support is available.

Grade

Completion of Grade 8, 9, or 10 by summer 2018

Location

On-campus: 800 King Edward Avenue (SITE building at the University of Ottawa)

Hours

9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Students are expected to sign themselves out at 4:00 p.m.

Schedule

Each half-course runs for two weeks from Monday to Friday.

$560 for each two-week long program
