Terminology used on the University of Ottawa website and in University publications

In November 2016, many of the terms used by the University in official texts changed, including those related to important academic dates and deadlines, program requirements and course descriptions. For example, we now use “term” instead of “session” and “unit” instead of “credit”. The University has done much work to update terminology. However, it is possible that examples of the old terminology remain, particularly in older or archived official texts. The old and new terms have the same meaning and should be considered equivalent.
