The First Annual Interactive Civil Engineering Symposium went off without a hitch, with great speakers, good food and a fun volleyball tournament

The event was largely organized by students. The Organizing Committee consisted of Corey Guertin-Normoyle, Aynsley Griffin, Arman Roshan, Ahmad Shahroodi, all from the ACI OS Chapter, and Nima Aghniaey (CSCE National Capital Commission).
The day started with a breakfast and opening remarks. Next up was technical presentations by Dr. Guy Felio and Professor Murat Saatcioglu.
After lunch, the volleyball tournament pitted students and staff against several organizations from around the city. The CVG staff team of Leandro Sanchez, Luc Cloutier, Roberto Narbaitz, Martin Noel, Majid Sartaj, plus graduate students Raheleh Arabgol and Anarbek Dauletyarov came third overall behind PCL and the City of Ottawa.
Plans are underway for next year’s tournament, stay tuned!
