uOttawa FDI Team Bring Home Four Awards at the 2017 Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot
The 2017 uOttawa FDI team of Jolene Hansell (Common Law 3L), Stéphanie Gagné (droit civil 3L), Mohiminol Khandaker (National Program) and Erik Shum (Common Law 3L) competed against 52 top international law schools at the Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot at Suffolk University in Boston, USA from November 2-5, 2017.

Call for an International Ban on the Weaponization of Artificial Intelligence
Professor Ian Kerr and members of the Artificial Intelligence research community are calling on the government to make Canada the 20th country in the world to take a global stand against weaponizing AI – banning any AI systems that would remove meaningful human control in determining the legitimacy of targets and deploying lethal force.
