Comprehensive Project Management Basics

18 PDUs / contact hours
Most activities in business today have to be approached as a project. You will learn how a project is planned, managed and closed using the tools and techniques aligned with the best practices outlined in the Project Management Institute’s (PMI)® Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide).
The focus of the workshop is on creating a plan that will allow a project manager or team member to know how the project is progressing and make the right decisions when it is off track. Our time will primarily be spent working in teams and developing the plan in order to ensure that once back at work you will not only be able to plan a project from A to Z but will also know when to skip certain parts of the plan and still keep risks at a reasonable level.
The knowledge gained in this workshop will not only help you run a project properly, it will also move you one step closer to qualifying for PMI’s internationally recognized Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification.
No prerequisites
This workshop is recognized by the Project Management Institute (PMI)® and as such will provide 18 PDUs (Professional Development Units) / contact hours towards attaining or maintaining the Project Management Professional (PMP)® designation.
Professional Development Units are allocated according to the number of training hours completed by the student and may be granted by increments of 0.25 PDU for each 15 minutes of training. A participation certificate will be given to students who attend a minimum of 90% of the course.
