Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the differential tuition fee exemption you must:
- be admitted to a program offered in French, and
- be enrolled as a full-time student and take a minimum of 9 units (credits) (3 courses) taught in French per term
The differential tuition fee exemption can be combined with the President’s or Chancellor’s Scholarship.Maintaining your differential tuition fee exemption
In order to maintain your differential tuition fee exemption until the end of your program, you must:
- be enrolled full-time every term (except for Spring/Summer, when you can study part time), and
- be enrolled for a minimum of 3 courses taught in French per term (9 units) (credits)
Should you fail to meet these conditions, you will lose your differential tuition fee exemption for the remainder of your program.Graduate programs
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the differential tuition fee exemption you must:
- be admitted to a program of studies offered only in French*
OR
- have a secondary or postsecondary diploma in French attesting to a minimum of two years of study, and
- for programs that offer compulsory courses in both official languages (English and French), enrol for the compulsory courses offered in French
The programs offered only in French are:
- Lettres françaises (PhD) (including specializations)
- Audiology (MHSc)
- Occupational Therapy (MHSc)
- Lettres françaises (MA) (including specializations)
- Speech-Language Pathology (MHSc)
- Physiotherapy (MHSc)
- Social Work (MSW)
The differential tuition fee exemption can be combined with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies international partial scholarship.
Maintaining your differential tuition fee exemption
In order to maintain your differential tuition fee exemption until the end of your program, you must:
- be enrolled full-time every term, and
- for programs that offer compulsory courses in both official languages (French and English), enrol for the compulsory courses offered in French
Should you fail to meet these conditions, you will lose your differential tuition fee exemption for the remainder of your program.
