- Criteria: Default procedure for all research projects involving human participants
- Submission dates: First 3 working days of month
- Number of copies needed: 1
- Evauation time: 6 weeks
Minimal Risk Review
- Criteria: Risks must not be higher than those lived in every day life (see website for restrictions)
- Submission dates: First 3 working days of month
- Number of copies needed: 1
- Evauation time: 5-7 weeks
Expedited Review
- Criteria: Projects already approved by another REB or minor revisions to a previously approved project
- Submission dates:None
- Number of copies needed: 1
- Evauation time: 3-4 weeks
Request for Release of Funds (1B)
- Criteria: Request to release research funds for non-participant related activities (e.g., research tools, literature review)
- Submission dates: None
- Number of copies needed: 1
- Evauation time: 1 week
Application for Course Outline
- Criteria: Request must be submitted by the professor when students are asked to do research involving human participants within the context of a course
- Submission dates: 4-6 weeks before classes begin
- Number of copies needed: 1
- Evauation time: 2-3 weeks
Application for secondary use of data
- Criteria: Projects using data originally collected for purposes other than the current research (e.g., school or criminal records, private association archives, company’s internal documents)
- Submission dates: None
- Number of copies needed: 1
- Evauation time: 2-3 weeks
