Research at the University of Ottawa Skills and Simulation Centre (uOSSC)
The uOSSC provides health care professionals with:
(i) a safe place to learn new skills;
(ii) exposure to some of the best teachers in the field; and
(iii) exposure to the latest innovations in medical practice.
Research and development will be a priority at the uOSSC to ensure we remain at the cutting edge. Any new developments in the field will be tested in-house and adopted immediately if there is evidence for their effectiveness. This will include innovations in teaching practices or equipment.
The partnership between The Ottawa Hospital and the University of Ottawa ensures direct access to researchers and resources necessary to advance the field. Research activities will allow opportunities for visiting professors, international fellows and local students to take part in the development of novel ways to assess and train health care professionals.
