Subresource Integrity is a W3C Recommendation

The Web Application Security Working Group has published a W3C Recommendation of Subresource Integrity. This specification defines a mechanism by which user agents may verify that a fetched resource has been delivered without unexpected manipulation.

First Public Working Drafts: Post Type Discovery and JF2 Post Serialization Format

The Social Web Working Group has published two Working Drafts:

  • Post Type Discovery: Post Type Discovery specifies an algorithm for determining the type of a post by what properties it has and potentially what value(s) they have, which helps avoid the need for explicit post types that are being abandoned by modern post creation UIs.
  • JF2 Post Serialization Format: This document describes a JSON serialization format to describe simple streams of data as well as single objects of data for data transfer and processing.

First Public Working Draft: Linked Data Notifications

The Social Web Working Group has published a Working Draft of Linked Data Notifications. Linked Data Notifications is a specialized use of Linked Data Platform (LDP) for sending and consuming notifications. It is not dependent on a complete implementation of LDP, but an easy-to-implement subset. This specification describes the particular features necessary to make it easy to exchange notifications in a decentralised, interoperable way.

3 Publications by The Permissions and Obligations Expression WG

The Permissions & Obligations Expression (POE) Working Group has published the First Public Working Drafts for the ODRL Information Model and the ODRL Vocabulary & Expression. These FPWDs provide a flexible and interoperable information model, vocabulary, and encoding mechanisms for describing statements about digital content usage. The deliverables are based on the previous reports created by the W3C ODRL Community Group and form the baseline for future enhancements by the POE WG.

In addition, the POE WG has published the Use Case and Requirements Note. These Use Cases will be reviewed and analyzed further into detailed requirements. The POE WG is calling for wider community feedback and contributions to the set of Use Cases to further enhance and improve the ODRL permissions and obligations expression language.

W3C Invites Implementations of Resource Timing Level 1

The Web Performance Working Group invites implementation of the Candidate Recommendation of Resource Timing Level 1. This specification defines an interface for web applications to access the complete timing information for resources in a document.

XML Inclusions (XInclude) Version 1.1 Note Published

The XML Core Working Group has published a Group Note of XML Inclusions (XInclude) Version 1.1. This document specifies a processing model and syntax for general purpose inclusion. Inclusion is accomplished by merging a number of XML information sets into a single composite infoset. Specification of the XML documents (infosets) to be merged and control over the merging process is expressed in XML-friendly syntax (elements, attributes, URI references).
