Food allergies? We have an app for that

A buffet can be a beautiful thing. But if you have food allergies, self-serve buffets can be a cross-contamination nightmare. Food Services had a problem: how to offer safe meals in the 24/7 Dining Hall to students with allergies. As is so often the case with millennials, their phone was the answer.
Arts and Engineering on the agenda for teens

Attention Ottawa teenagers (and their parents): Would a University of Ottawa summer camp featuring workshops entitled “Codebreakers: How Language Works” and “Geography Scavenger Hunt” appeal to you? If so, check out the new interactive Arts and Engineering Camp being offered for one week in July. The camp, designed for students in Grades 8 to 11, promises to stimulate the artistic and scientific sides of the brain, with plenty of fun to spare.

As Commander Scott Kelly and his crew manoeuvred Canadarm2 to capture the Cygnus spacecraft and bring it alongside the International Space Station last December, two University of Ottawa professors were holding their breath until the cargo ship finally docked.

Imagine watching your child interact with researchers, who engage them in short games, puzzles or problem-solving tasks, and then chatting with the researchers — before continuing on to the museum’s other exhibits.
