TeenSci Program

Grade completed : 7 to 10

Our TeenSci program is one-week long with the possibility of a consecutive week of volunteer work.  The program challenges participants to try a variety of hands on science projects like dissections, 3D printing, circuit design, chemistry experiments and much more.  Through these projects, participants will gain experience in various university laboratory facilities such as: the chemistry lab, electrical engineering lab, and Richard L'Abbé Makerspace.  Please note that all teen programs (TeenSci, TeenTech, and Enrichment Courses) are bilingual. French and English participants will be placed together with a bilingual instructor.  Additionally, the curriculum for TeenSci will not change significantly from year to year.

The program’s potential second week will allow participants who have finished grade 9 to gain up to 40 hours of volunteer work while giving them an opportunity to develop their interpersonal and leadership skills.  Participants will be assigned with an instructor to help run activities for a younger group of campers and to assist in teaching a variety of projects.  We are looking for top-notch volunteers who are responsible, enthusiastic, creative, and leaders.  Volunteer positions fill up quickly, so register early. Once registered, candidates will be required to fill out a volunteer application form. Click here for more information.

Once a week the participants will get the opportunity to swim at the university swimming pool.  During the rest of the week they will get breaks to go outside.

Lunch is not included, except on Friday when a pizza lunch & juice box is offered (this is included in the price of the camp).  Please provide environmentally-friendly, nut-free snacks and a lunch for the rest of the week.
