About Our Regional Councils
Regional Councils consist of four to ten dedicated and motivated volunteers, reflecting a diversity of backgrounds and interests. Volunteers are engaged for a two year term subject to a two year renewal to allow for the revitalization and sustainability of the councils. Each regional council is led by a president who acts as the primary point of contact for the region.
Regional Council meetings take place on an as-needed basis to plan for visits by uOttawa officials and university events in the region. The Alumni Relations Office communicates regularly with the regional councils, and provides logistical and managerial support.
Regional Council Members connect uOttawa representatives with key leaders in the region through personal networks and active outreach, facilitate the formation of strategic partnerships, help to host and offer guidance and support for high profile university activities and champion uOttawa philanthropic activity in the region to increase overall donations to the University.
