The
Global Mercury Assessment report presents a global assessment of
mercury and mercury compounds, developed in cooperation with other members of
the Inter-Organization Programme for the Sound Management of Chemicals
(IOMC). Based on this assessment, the Governing Council agreed that
further international action to reduce the risks to human health and the
environment was required.
