TCF – Test de connaissance du français
A standardized and calibrated French language proficiency test that ranks you on a scale defined by the Council of Europe (Common European Framework of Reference for Language). The TCF is for people who would like to know their level of French proficiency for personal, professional or educational purposes. The TCF-Quebec is required for immigration to Quebec.

DELF/DALF
The DELF (Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française) and the DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) are standardized examinations of the French language offered by the French National Ministry of Education. Candidates who are successful on the examinations receive a diploma, which certifies their competency in the French language.

uOttawa Course Placement Test
This test will determine in which language course a uOttawa student or employee may register.

Language Assessment for French immersion
Learn more about the language assessments use for French Immersion Studies and the Extended French Stream: Immersion Admission Test, Productive Skills Test, and the Second Language Certification Test.

Proficiency Test
This test is used to identify if your language proficiency meets the language requirements of uOttawa undergraduate or graduate programs, or international exchange programs.

Second Language Certification Test
This course helps prepare students for a standardized French or English as a second language test. Students who pass (receive at least a level 2 in each part) will receive an official certificate.

Employee Language Assessment
This test is used to determine if support staff and professors meet the language requirements of their department.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 
IELTS is an internationally recognized test designed to assess the English language proficiency of individuals who plan to study or work where English is the language of communication.

Second Language Teaching Admission Test
This test will determine if your language proficiency is sufficient for admission into the Second Language Teaching Program.
