This year’s ceremony was undeniably a huge success. Our faculty’s graduating class this spring included 376 undergraduates, 375 masters, 5 graduate diplomas, and 27 PhD graduands. And with more than 600 of these new uOttawa Engineering alumni in attendance the Faculty hosted the largest single event of uOttawa convocation ceremony, which was held at the National Arts Centre!
We were very pleased to meet our new alumni, as well as their parents and friends before and after the ceremony, and we are grateful for the positive feedback that we received.
Our Class President, Mr. Corey Toye, as well as this year’s engineering Honorary Doctorate, Dr. Gururaj Deshpande, delivered powerful and inspirational speeches that have made this very special evening even more special.
On behalf of the Faculty and of our new alumni and of their family and friends, I would like to express my gratitude towards all professors and staff. Your presence in such a large number was highly appreciated.
Spring Convocation marks the end of our academic year. And this means that we are already paving the way to welcoming new cohorts of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as all our returning students in September 2014.
To those of you who graduated this spring, I want to state once again how proud I am of all of you. I value your efforts and dedication to your studies; your imagination, vision, and innovative skills were put to the test down this road of success. I hope you will always consider uOttawa as your home away from home.
Keep in touch with your Faculty!
I wish you all the best in your future endeavours!
