The Ombudsperson’s team

Lucie Allaire is president and founder of L.A. Management Consulting, a firm providing mediation and conflict-resolution services to human-resources managers. She has worked at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat as senior advisor to the vice-president, Informal Conflict Management System, and at the Department of National Defence in Ottawa as director general of the Conflict Management Program. Through these many professional experiences in the public service, she has gained extensive knowledge in the fields of conflict resolution, negotiation and mediation. With the strength of her solid practical and theoretical background, she has also taught mediation and negotiation at Saint Paul University.

Iman Ibrahim joined the Office of the Ombudsperson as an Assistant Ombudsperson. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Kuwait, a bachelor’s degree in humanities and religion from Carleton University, a master’s degree in international affairs and conflict resolution, a professional certificate in international conflict management from Carleton University, as well as third party neutral training from the Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution in Ottawa. She has over 12 years of experience in office administration and management in Canada and Egypt. Iman Ibrahim is very involved in the community in promoting peace and dialogue and in many multicultural projects to address various political issues, constructive integration of minorities and promotion of democratic values. She has been a member of the Christian/Muslim Dialogue since 2005 and is currently the co-Chair of the Ottawa chapter of the Department of Peace Initiative. She speaks English, Arabic and French.
