Resources for Researchers
Research Funding
Financial support can take many forms, and come from several distinct sources or combinations of sources. Funding can be found internally - from programs maintained by the University - or externally, from government agencies or partners in the private sector.
Policies, Procedures & Guidelines
A comprehensive administrative structure deals with all aspects of research at the University of Ottawa, from the handling of initial grant applications to the submission of final project reports.
Partnerships and Technology Transfer
Technology Transfer and Business Enterprise (TTBE), a University of Ottawa office dedicated to moving inventions from researchers to the private sector, has done just that for a number of innovative and promising projects. By bringing the research community together with the business community, members of TTBE have made this a valuable and convenient process for everyone involved.
Research Projects Specialists
Reporting to the Office of the Vice-President of Research, the Research Projects Specialists (RPS) are expected to contribute to the growth, success and increased visibility of research in the humanities and social sciences, natural sciences and engineering, as well as health and medicine at the University of Ottawa.
University of Ottawa's CIHR University Delegate and SSHRC Leader
The University of Ottawa’s CIHR Delegate and the SSHRC Leader maintain an open line of communication with their respective agency. The feedback received from their university community helps feed into the conception, development and implementation of the agency’s programs. They also keep researchers informed of the directions, initiatives and decisions taken by each agency.
